For quite some time, I have wanted to pursue creative writing as a career. More specifically, I am interested in writing about trauma. Even as a young girl, I favored memoirs and creative nonfiction.
To help finalize my writing portfolio, I am asking for some financial help. Due to the nature of my writing, each individual essay or piece requires immense personal investment. Some examples of necessary expenses relate to research, therapy cost to ensure that I am taking care of my self as I re-examine my own traumas, and editing feedback. I am also interested in taking several private classes focusing on memoir/trauma writing with successful writers so that I may work out my writing with someone experienced in the medium. All funds will go toward such expenses.
I currently am in a financially strained place after several personal and mental fallbacks, despite working a full time job. I simply cannot financially afford to invest in my writing the way I would like to right now. If you choose to donate, I cannot even begin to describe how much it would mean to me. Any and all donations would push me closer to my goal of becoming a successful writer, of being able to tell my story in a way that offers my traumas real, grounded purpose. In moments where I felt suffocated by my traumas and body, writing gave me the ability to exhale.
